Our story

A stay that gives back.

Mihunga Campsite was created as a sustainable way to connect tourism with opportunity for local women and the wider community.

As a project of the Rwenzori Child Care Initiative, the campsite contributes to a wider community mission supporting children, women and vulnerable people.

The campsite is run by women from the local community. Income and profits generated through the enterprise are reinvested into initiatives that help women build livelihoods, skills and greater economic opportunity.

“Come for the mountains. Stay for the people. Leave a positive impact.”
